A little while ago here, I spoke about parading through the aisles of Boots to find some new beauty buys – as I left most of mine (basically everything – ahhhhh) back in South Africa
Say hi to The Ordinary. Discovered not at Boots but at the pharmacy that supplies the Queen with her toothpaste, John Bell & Croyden. And interestingly, its not as pricey as you’d think – I managed to pick up this deal for X 2 giant Bioderma Sensibio H20’s for only £12.50.
Back to The Ordinary and their very on brand tag line ‘Clinical Formulations With Integrity’. They don’t use resources to discover new skincare theories, rather they rely on current research to formulate their products. This means the price are low but the products work because: *Most-ridiculous- sounding-ingredient-discoveries-are-surprise-surprise-marketing-ploys*.
I was on the hunt for a hyaluronic serum and beautifully packaged brand caught my eye. I adore SkinCeuticals’ offering but its very pricey and this Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is only £5.90 A complete steal in comparison and a very effective hydrator. In Saffer terms that’s less than R100 – you CANNOT find anything like this in SA, sadly. It has no fragrance (ideal for sensitivity), smoothes on beautifully and honestly I can’t believe how great it is based on its price and slick packaging. Its bog standard hyaluronic acid but that’s all you really need. I’ve been using it before my moisturiser as a booster for fine dehydration lines and dull skin – because my skin just leeches out water. Wes has been using The Natural Moisturising Factors + HA and is finding it a pleasure to use – and the price point of £4.90 was reason enough to at least give it a go. Salli Hughes has spoken of the brand both here , and their foundation – which is next on my list to try – here. Deciem – the company that manufactures the brand also makes NIOD at a slightly higher price point but same philosophy. *Adds Voice Mail Mask to wish list*
Have you heard of these or tried any of them?
